Workforce Tariff Response Fund
The Workforce Tariff Response Program opened for applications June 1st and we are seeking insight from businesses across the province that have been impacted by tariffs or global market shifts and may benefit from this opportunity.
We may be able to support with training (reskilling, upskilling, retraining) and supports for workers facing reduced hours, layoffs, or workforce disruption.
To meet the funding requirements of the new stream of funding, there are some requirements that your business would need to consider:
- This fund is a response to tariffs and other market disruptions impacting people who are currently working and those who may be at risk of displacement or who are struggling to find work in priority industries. The fund is time limited, and there are no guarantees for funding beyond the agreed upon funding cycle.
- All participants would need to be EI eligible.
- Service Registration and comprehensive data reporting is required and will be added in LaMPSS. Learners will be contacted via LaMPSS over a period of time to continue to collect labour market outcomes. This may include surveys to provide additional information about the impact of the training.
